The name Kallio derives from the ancient Greek verb "καλλιώ" which means make someone beautiful, a concept that fully reflects the philosophy of the products. The word "cosmetic" has the same root in Greek language. For us, the constant improvement of cosmetic texture of our products is a very important part of their research and development. At Sikalias Laboratories, the enjoyable use of refined texture is as essential as the research for specialized compositions, with the ultimate goal of creating a range of beauty products with proven results in the aesthetic improvement of every skin type. To achieve this goal, modern research and development units are used as well as modern production facilities that are in harmony with international quality certificates.

The story of Kallio

The idea for Kallio products was based on the experience and specialized knowledge of the preparation of galenical formulations in the pharmacy laboratory. The production of personalized cosmetics from natural plant extracts of Greek nature in the Sikalias pharmacy workshop started in 2003 and was carried out by a Pharma-GMP factory facility, where the first Kallio products appeared on the market.

Throughout this course, nothing has changed in terms of the principles and targets applied to Kallio products.

What are the biomimetic ingredients?

They are ingredients whose action is fulfilled by promotion of normal body processes. Hydration e.g. can be done either by blocking water loss from the skin, or by giving the skin moisture with moisture-absorbing ingredients or by promoting the body's own hydrating processes. These ingredients are usually catalysts or components of biological reactions that occur in the body and are produced in biotechnological way from natural raw materials.
